When you’re plotting a big trip, one of the first things you’ll think about is budget. The further afield your trip is, the more you’ll be wondering how much you’ll need to save. If you’re heading away on an expedition, though, the costings are relatively simple. Trek to Mount Elbrus with Earth’s Edge, and the costs are all laid out in advance, crystal clear. So, if you’re wondering how much it costs to trek to Mount Elbrus, here’s everything you need to know…
How much it costs to trek to Mount Elbrus
There are two main ways to summit Mount Elbrus: the Northside and the Southside. We choose the more adventurous route, and climb on the Northside. The Southside is effectively a ski resort – trekkers use a combination of ski lifts and cable cars to get to the top. The Northside is a proper remote adventure! There are far fewer trekkers on this side, too.
Our 14-day expedition allows us to take in the striking scenery, as well as take the proper time to adjust and acclimatise. While you won’t need technical mountaineering skills, we take a day to learn how to climb on snow and ice.
When you’re choosing an expedition, it’s vital to know all the costs upfront. That way, you avoid any nasty surprises.
Our expedition costs €3,699.

Trekking to Mount Elbrus from the UK
If you’re joining us from the UK, you can simply choose to book the expedition without flights, and book your own. The expedition costs €3,199 without flights. Don’t worry, we’ll tell you exactly where you need to go, and when! We can also help with airport transfers.
What isn’t included?
While the above is a comprehensive list of what’s included, it doesn’t include everything. You’ll need to bring your own kit (we provide a packing list), and sort your own travel insurance and tourist visas. You’ll also want a bit of spending money, too. We suggest you bring €300 in mixed notes.
How much do I need to tip?
It’s customary to tip your amazing porters and guides at the end of the expedition. To keep things simple, we collect the tip money and divide it equally. On this expedition, we recommend you tip €70. This isn’t in addition to the €300, by the way. So that leaves you with €280 of spare cash for treats, souvenirs and a beer at the end!
Can I pay in instalments?
Absolutely. To secure your place, you’ll need to pay a deposit of €399. After that, you can pay into your account as often as you like, in any amount. The full amount is due two months before the expedition starts.
